We went here and all loved our food. The flavors are so well balanced and the pasta was cooked perfectly. Cute interior and great and fast service. If you cannot decide between Italian and Japanese definitely try this place

Pasta dinner in Las Vegas, Nevada... Many of my friends have dined here (Joyce, Terri, Ania, Norm, Ward, Kevin, Antonia, Nelson, and Stefany) and they had good things to say about Trattoria Nakamura-ya. But first - Let's talk about the name of the place. It refers to a combination of Italian and Japanese cuisine. Anyway, my Twinsie, Joyce W., wanted to meet here (over seven years ago).... And we did! It was such a wonderful experience that I wanted my sister to experience it. I called before we got there to make sure that they could squeeze us in. Yes! Parking in the shared, free lot was challenging, but achievable. Kota was our cheerful, competent, energetic, and efficient server. He did everything... from answering phone calls to taking orders and seating customers, he checked on us every so often! I got the most popular dish: Uni Tomato Cream. I chose fettuccine instead of linguine because the width of the noodles seems to hold more sauce. The noodle also has a softer chew in my opinion. My sister got the Spaghetti Wafu Kurobuta sausage & Kinoko (mushroom). It had Japanese-styled topping with seaweed, onion, and shoyu. It was interesting! This cozy establishment has been around for a very long time! We enjoyed the calm, dimly lit atmosphere and exceptional service!

The complementary bread was amazing (fresh too). We ordered an extra one (50 cents). I like that the waiter informed us that additional bread would cost extra so that we aren't caught by surprise. Green Mussel 3-Way - I liked the basil one the most, but my party liked the other ones more. It's nice to try this once. Bruschetta Nakamura style - I liked the flavors, but it's not a must eat. Fried baby octopus - too salty for me, but nice crisp. Could probably skip next time. Uni scallop risotto - pretty good, but I liked it much more after adding the spices. I liked how they had both the chili crisp + chili oil on the table. We could've skipped the caviar add on though. Mentai Carbanara - we got shrimp as add on for the protein. Pretty good.

Quick Summary: - Unique pasta dishes - Line might form due to the small seating count - Portions are perfect - Entered hungry, left content We visited this restaurant in early January and had a good food experience. When we arrived, it just opened their doors and there were still some open, unreserved seats to take. We ordered the bruschetta and focused on the pasta section this round. I ordered the carbonara with mentaiko roe (I love mentaiko). I liked the different toppings on each of the bruschetta toasts). The wasabi one had a good punch, but it wasn't too strong that its spiciness shot through the airways. One of them contained fish, and that could be a bit fishy for some who do not handle eating fish. After eating the appetizers then the pasta dishes appeared at once, so everyone got their dish. I recall spending a lot of time examining the menu and having a hard time deciding what to choose because all of them sounded new and so tasty. The one I decided on taste really good! I love carbonara and I like making them at home. Compared to the typical carbonara, the broth is lighter and not thick. All of the pastas come in a bowl, rather than a flat plate. I gave myself a smile because I couldn't figure out if I wanted to eat this with chopsticks or a fork (I chose the fork). I enjoyed the flavors from this carbonara. The gentle spicy kick of the mentaiko roe balanced out the fatty pork. Overall I enjoyed it so much. If I visit Las Vegas again, I would like to come by here and try their other dishes.

Nakamura has been one of my favorite spots in town for a while, and if you're looking for authentic Japanese restaurants, this complex is the place to be. It's filled with hidden gems, and Nakamura stands out, especially if you love Japanese-style Italian dishes. They recently started serving a healthy risotto, and I tried it today -- absolutely delicious, with scallop and uni adding such a rich flavor. Their chicken and steak are also always tender and juicy, cooked just right. Service is also great, and I was served by a Japanese waitress, which adds to the authentic experience. Whether you're craving something hearty or something lighter, Nakamura always delivers with that authentic Japanese touch.

This restaurant is a must try when visiting Vegas. The ambiance is nostalgic from when I was deployed in Japan. The service was friendly, accommodating, and fast. We did not have to wait long for our orders. We had the bruschetta - the octopus wasabi mayo one was incredible. A blanket of creamy sauce and tender octopus on crispy bruschetta. They do not skimp on the toppings. My main course was the uni pasta. It was rich and full of seafood flavor. Every bite of pasta you would get a few pieces of uni. Again, no skimping on the toppings as the uni was fresh and bountiful in the sauce. Amazing price for value. I could have this dish any day. For dessert I had the tiramisu. The softest mascarpone I've had in a tiramisu. Strong coffee syrup flavor with a hint of chocolate; perfect for those who don't like overly sweet desserts. There is a great amount of good food on the menu. I plan to come back to go through the next set of dishes I am interested in! Lastly, wow at the bathroom! Weird addition to this review but you have to acknowledge the cleanliness in there. The toilet seat is very nice, just like a warm hug lol

This was such an interesting concept of Italian and Japanese fusion and indeed it was fusion! The ambiance is like a little Italian shop with an asian flair. The service was good with one server and one busser. They made a great and efficient team. Here is what we ordered: 1. Wagyu A5 Carpaccio: (Small): this was nice and light. The meat was nice and tender and had such a great finish. The arugula was a delish peppery topper. 2. Miso Carbonara: the miso soup with the carbonara fusion was a match made in heaven. The broth was full of umami flavor and the butter and bread combo was chef's kiss. 3. Uni Tomato Cream: I'm not a huge fan of uni, but this tomato cream sauce helped to tone down the fishiness. The sauce was a little loose for my liking and wished it was a bit thicker. But great flavor. Dessert we ultimately had to go with the trio: 1. Black Sesame: had a lovely sesame flavor, however the texture was a but different. It was like a mix of jello and pudding. 2. Soy Milk Panna Cotta: the brown sugar sauce was delightful. The panna cotta itself was amazing and it was by far our favorite 3. Tiramisu: a lot of places have different versions. For this fusion place I wish they did a black sesame version instead of just a plain Italian tiramisu! but it was good. Overall such a great and interesting concept! A little bit pricey, but definitely worth a try

Be still my heart. TRATTORIA NAKAMURA-YA located in Chinatown, Las Vegas, is a hidden gem serving Tokyo-style Italian. There are usually only two Japanese chefs in the kitchen, while servers are standing by for assistance. I've been dining here for years! No more gate keeping. It's time to share all of the things that make this restaurant special. A few of my absolute favorites are: Grilled Kurobuta Sausage, Calamari, Green Salad w/ Miso dressing, Uni Tomato Cream Sauce, Spaghetti Wafu Miso Carbonara, and Kinoko Meat Cream Sauce. Fresh and delicious!! Light yet flavorful. Homemade gourmet. You must finish off with the Tiramisu, it's heavenly!! Eating Italian food in Japan was our 2nd favorite cuisine when we once lived in Yokosuka; Trattoria Nakamura-Ya brings back fond memories of our favorite Italian restaurants at nearby More's City, Daiei Mall and of course, Tokyo. This is comfort food for me. Chef's kiss!! The interior is cozy and intimate. Walk-Ins are welcome but often times large parties are dining in. Therefore, I highly recommend making a reservation in advance. The small shopping center has a parking lot, with direct access to the restaurant. But, it can get quite busy due to the yummy Japanese eateries altogether. We usually park on the side street. Hope you enjoy dining at Trattoria Nakamura-Ya much as our family does!

Made a reservation for a Monday at 5pm since we were coming from out of town and was afraid it would get busy. Didn't need the reservation at all though. We tried a number of dishes and everything was well presented and tasty, but I wasn't especially blown away by any dishes. The scallops in my uni tomato cream linguini was fresh and cooked perfectly tender, but the pasta itself was a bit too salty. The set meal salad with giner dressing was a bit over sauced so that was very salty as well. The green mussels in escargot style was nice with three different sauces, and everyone had different favorite sauces, but I thought it was a bit salty as well. I just felt like everything was a bit over salted. The service was very attentive and they brought us extra toasted bread for the escargot mussels when requested, and kept our water glasses filled. The quality of the food was very good, but maybe just need to go easier on the salt. I wouldn't mind coming back to try more of their japanese pastas
